
Kale - Red Russian
Sweet, tender and delicious leafy green, with soft leaves that require less cooking than many other winter greens. Red Russian Kale is a heirloom variety with a mild, nutty flavour and tastes even sweeter after the first frosts. Try tossing with oil and salt then cooking in the oven until it's crispy on the edges but not too brown, for a delicious and nutritious snack or side dish! WASH BEFORE EATING Please don't be afraid of small holes in the leaves; our farm is a thriving ecosystem, and we support this by not using any pesticides, but that does mean that the wildlife gets to have a taste too! It would be a shame to compost perfectly good veggies due to small imperfections, so be aware that it may not look like chemically grown produce, but the benefits are far greater.
