We are a partnership of passionate young growers, managing adjacent market gardens on rented council farmland in Sarn. Our aim is to help create resilient local food systems that support communities and enhance biodiversity!
As Wern Farm, we are producing vegetables grown using organic principles to sell locally through our veg box scheme and nearby farmers markets. In addition to this, the individual businesses will be producing resilient seeds, herbs, plants, willow, honey and more! Strong communities are built by healthy people, and healthy people require fresh, nutritious food. Within two years, we will be producing 75+ veg boxes for people in the local area, reducing their reliance on supermarkets, and facilitating local, seasonal and nutritious diets. We believe that healthy, nutritious food should be available to everyone and supported by other local initiatives we’re hoping to provide subsidised veg boxes to people who couldn’t otherwise afford organic produce. By following organic principles, as well as other regenerative farming methods such as: minimum tillage, green manures, intercropping, permaculture and agroforestry, we will be able to produce a large of food while enhancing biodiversity and improving soil health.
Meet some of our committed Wern Farm - Powys crew who work hard to bring you the tastiest local food.
